Admissions Policies Entrance Requirements An applicant must be a graduate of an approved secondary school, or have an equivalency diploma. A student also must have a call by God to the ministry. Application Procedures Applicants must complete the following steps in order to be considered for admission to Zion Ministerial Institute for any given term: 1. File a completed application form. A $50 application fee must accompany the application. ($40 will be refunded if not accepted.) This form should be received in the Registrar's Office according to the following schedule: Application Deadlines Applications may be submitted after the deadline dates, but we cannot guarantee that they will be given equal consideration with those submitted on time. 2. Request the secondary school to send an official transcript of grades, credits, and rank in class to the Registrar's Office. The transcript must include ninth grade through junior year records. If secondary school documents are unobtainable, a case by case review will be made. Transcripts of post-secondary work may also be sent, but are not a necessary part of the application process. 3. Request recommendations from three people: one from the pastor, the others from non-related persons. These recommendations should be sent directly from the individual to the Registrar's Office. 4. Arrange a campus visit, if possible, for a personal interview with the Chancellor or an Administrative representative. To schedule an interview on campus, the applicant should write or telephone for an appointment before arriving on campus. 5. Notification will be sent regarding the status of the applicant's file. If items have not yet been submitted to ZMI, the applicant will be given opportunity to complete the file before the decision for acceptance is made. 6. For applicants completing the senior year, a final Official Transcript of all secondary work must be submitted once made available. This transcript must include senior year credits, grades, final class rank, and statement of graduation.
Acceptance Notification Upon reviewing the applicant's file, an interview will be conducted by the Chancellor or an Administrative Office representative. After the interview an acceptance decision will be made. An official letter will be sent notifying the applicant of their acceptance status. Upon arrival at campus, the student must sign the Statement of Responsibilities. If the student wishes to decline from signing the Statement of Responsibilities form, he or she may withdraw from enrollment with a full refund of tuition, room and board.
Transfer Students Those desiring to transfer into Zion Ministerial Institute's program from another institution should have completed one year of post-secondary work, have at least a "B" average and be in good standing with the school last attended. Credit is granted for work of satisfactory grade taken in acceptable schools, provided courses apply toward Zion Ministerial Institute's program. All cases will be carefully reviewed. The transfer student should follow the same Application Procedures as stated above for new students, with the following additional steps: 1. Request transcripts of all previous college, continuing education, and/or correspondence work be sent directly to the Registrar's Office. To download the Request Transcript Form click here. 2. Request recommendations from three people: one from your pastor, one from a teacher or faculty advisor from the previous school attended, and one from a non-related person. These recommendations should be sent directly from the individual to the Registrar's Office. 3. Submit final transcripts of post-secondary work as soon as it is completed. Acceptance procedures for transfer students is the same as for new students. Refer to the Acceptance Procedure listed above.
